Equipment that you need:
- 1 Steel box channel (6 feet long, 5 – by – 5 inches, 3/8 inches thick)
- Hydraulic motor and ram
- Tape measure
- 2 Steel box channel (2 feet long, 5 – by – 5 inches, 3/8 inches thick)
- Hand drill
- 3 Steel box channel (4 feet long, 4 – by – 4 inches, 3/8 inches thick)
- Steel tubing (3 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length)
- 2 Steel plates (5 inches wide by 10 inches long, 3/8 inches thick)
- 2 Swivel bolts
- Welder
- 1 Steel box channel (4 feet long, 5 – by – 5 inches, 3/8 inches thick)
- Drill press
- Steel drill bits
- Slag hammer
- Tapping bits (bits used to make bolt threads)
- Chalk
- 2 Lock pins
- Ratchet and socket set

5 Steps to Build a Repo Wheel Lift
Step-1: Start with the bumper. You have to remove the bumper from your vehicle. Then measure the space between the two suspension members where the bumper attaches. Point out the steel plates. Then drill a hole in each steel plate. There is a frame behind the bumper. Make a same size hole in the frame. Place each plate either side of the frame. After put the swivel bolts.
Step-2: Insert the steel box channel to the frame of the truck. Notice where the frame hits the box channel. After that weld the steel plates. 5 inches of the plate should be sticking above the upper part of the box. Take a measure of the 6 foot steel box channel. Then weld the 4 foot. 5 by 5 inch steel box should be placed in a vertical position.
Step-3: Now drill four holes in the 2 foot of each 5 by 5 channel box. Insert the 4 foot of each 4 by 4 inch box channel inside the 5 by 5 inch channel box. Then attach the corresponding holes by drilling. Then put the lock pins inside the holes to match the holes. Then remove the pins. After that slide the 4 by 4 inch box out.
Now take the 6 foot and 5 by 5 inch box channel. Place the 2 foot, 5 by 5 inch channel box at one end to that box channel. Doing that weld tje perpendicular. You have to make it a 90 degree angle. Then weld the other end of the 2 foot, 5 by 5 inch box.
Step-4: Now you have to cut the 4 foot, 3 inch steel pipe in 1 foot sections. Then weld one piece of the steel pipe. It should be on the side of the 4 by 4 inch box channel. Then weld another 1 foot section, leaving 10 inches from the edge of the end pipe. It should be in the 4 by 4 inch box channel.
Step-5: Now you have to place a hydraulic motor and ram in the bed of the truck. Assembly the the 6 foot, 5 by 5 inch box channel to the frame of the truck. Then take the ram end. Now drill the box channel. Mount the bolts to the ram. Finally remount the bumper. To raise the wheels of your vehicle insert the 4 – foot, 4 – by – 4 – inch box channel assembly.
